        are proud to offer the following two programs: 

                             Recreational Summer Camp Program

               Location: Our Lady of Sorrows, 801 Main Street, Vestal, NY

              July 10th- August 4th2017  Monday-Friday, 8:30am-2:30pm

               Social Skills Program for Young Adults (aka Geckos)

               Location: Our Lady of Sorrows, 801 Main Street, Vestal, NY

               September-June, first and third Monday each month, 4:30-6:30pm

               Applications accepted throughout the year

G&E Therapies Summer Camp and Social Skills Program eligibility:

 Participant must be:

  • diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder or developmental disability
  • eligible for services through OPWDD-Tuition Free*
  • private pay may be considered depending upon enrollment numbers
  • 5-12 years of age (Summer Camp) and 13-adult (Social Skills Program)
  • a resident of Broome, Tioga, Delaware, Otsego, Chenango, or Tompkins county
  • residing at home with parent or guardian
  • ambulatory
  • independent in self care/hygiene
  • without signs of aggression, violent behaviors or not injurious to self or others
  • without history of flight

Participant must have:

  • current immunization record
  • reliable transportation to/from Camp Program or Social Skills Group

****Recreational Summer Camp offers:

  • A fun, recreational four week summer program
  • Daily programming, promoting social/emotional, cognitive, communication and motor development
  • Experienced therapists, educators, and a registered nurse
  • Visitor day on Fridays
  • Guest presenters throughout the week
  • "Power Hour", a time for parents to relax, share stories, network, lend support, attend discussions led by local professionals on autism-related topics

 

****Social Skills Group offers…

  • An exciting opportunity for young adults to meet twice per month
  • Programming, promoting communication, interaction and social skills
  • Experienced therapists and educators
  • Fun oppertunites to interact with peers
  • “Power Hour” for parents to share stories, network, lend support, attend discussions led by local professionals on related topics

OPWDD qualified children and young adults have no out of pocket costs associated with either program.
